The Global Policy Forum (GPF) is an independent policy NGO that critically examines and informs about the activities of the United Nations and multilateral processes.

LAKdev is responsible for the maintenance of the entire internet presence, which consists of five different Drupal 9 websites. We took over the sites as outdated Drupal 8 sites and successfully migrated them to the latest Drupal and PHP versions. We also implemented backup routines and fixed SEO vulnerabilities to improve the sites' performance and visibility.

The customer requirement

We took over the sites as outdated Drupal 8 sites and successfully migrated them to the latest version of Drupal and PHP. We also implemented backup routines and fixed SEO vulnerabilities to improve the performance and visibility of the sites. This then resulted in the further requirements:

  • Development of a user-friendly and consistent Internet presence
  • Update to the latest Drupal and PHP version
  • Implementation of backup routines
  • Fixing SEO vulnerabilities

The solution

LAKdev took responsibility for the Global Policy Forum (GPF) website, which consists of five Drupal 9 sites. The challenge was to successfully migrate the outdated Drupal 8 sites to the latest version of Drupal and PHP. This included implementing backup routines and fixing SEO vulnerabilities to improve the sites' performance and visibility. Close collaboration with GPF resulted in a unified and user-friendly presence with streamlined design and intuitive navigation. The successful migration, implementation of backups and SEO optimization resulted in improved performance and visibility of the GPF websites.
