The goal of Prüfungshefte is to provide students and teachers with a centralized access point for high-quality exam preparation books for different German school qualifications. In addition to the online shop, the platform we developed consists of a Drupal multisite, which also includes websites such as berlin-msa.de, abitur-berlin.de, realschule-hessen.de and many more.

Project Summary

We implemented a Drupal multisite solution with e-commerce functionality for Prüfungshefte. The stack included a CMS-driven learning hub integration, three native apps, e-commerce shops, and a marketing automation pipeline. LAKdev handled social media and video production, generating over 1 million views.

The project was executed in multiple phases: discovery & SEO strategy, architecture & multisite implementation, commerce integration, native app development, and comprehensive marketing initiatives. The workflow emphasized observability, rollback-safe deployments, and high availability during peak traffic.

Website

The website was implemented using Drupal 10, with numerous custom PHP-developed Drupal modules. In addition to development, LAKdev manages SEO, design, regular maintenance, and hosting for LAKschool.

Learning Hub Integration

A central knowledge hub for structured learning and resources is integrated via the platform’s wiki.

Native Apps

In addition to the website, we developed two native apps for Android and iOS, connected to the platform via REST APIs. To enable offline usage, the apps include a local SQLite database.
