LAKdev supported the Journal for Digital Humanities in migrating an existing Drupal 7 website to the new Drupal 9 Version.
The customer requirement
Special features of the project are the many scientific articles in multiple versions and by different authors, whose data had to be migrated, and the support of display formats specially designed for the ZfDG. This then resulted in the further requirements:
- Complex search
- List views
- Groupings in booklets
- Proposal submission function via web form
The solution
To address the client's challenges, we performed a comprehensive upgrade of the existing Drupal 7 website to the latest Drupal 9 version. In doing so, we have developed a customized content structure to effectively manage the many scientific articles in different versions and by different authors. In addition, we made special customizations and extensions with custom modules and a custom theme to enable the desired display formats and features.
